The Jasper Lions Club recently purchased craft items for Rock County Opportunities (RCO). Pictured holding some of the donated items at RCO in Luverne are (in front, from left) Erika Egdorf, Mitchel Anderson, Tim Kramer, Peyton Maschino and Jack Voorhees.

Luverne’s one act play cast took second place Saturday at the subsection meet in Pipestone and will move on to section competition.

Five schools competed at the Section 3 Subsection 10 event, and Russell-Tyler-Ruthton took the subsection title.

Colton Paul Arends was born on May 10, 1996, to Paul and Teresa (Menning) Arends at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was raised on the family farm east of Luverne, Minnesota. From a young age, his beaming spirit always found a way to light up the room.

Stephen August Fagerness passed away Jan. 21, 2026, surrounded by family under the compassionate care of Hospice.

Danielle Marie Malwitz-White Mountain was born on Feb. 23, 1974, in Fridley, Minnesota, to Ron and Ardella Malwitz. They lived there for a couple of years before moving to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran church in Howard, South Dakota.
