Minnesota has had a net gain of roughly 43,000 acres of wetland from 2006 to 2020, according to the Minnesota DNR in its Wetland Status and Trends Monitoring Report.

People in the communities of Rock County are known for their generosity — of time, talents, money and more. Another way to be generous is to give blood.

For the new year, I am participating in a 12-week Healthy Human Challenge with about 120 like-minded individuals.

Over a very short period of time, Luverne lost three great men. I extend my sympathy to the families of George “the flower guy” Bonnema, Dave “the pilot dentist” Paquette, and Elmer “the coach” Menage.

Hills-Beaver Creek graduate Jax Wysong was selected for a Future Innovator of America Fellowship at South Dakota State University, Brookings.
