Linda M. Rust, age 66, of Rock Rapids, Iowa, passed away Friday evening, Sept. 27, 2024, at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne, Minnesota.
Visitation was from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Rock Rapids.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, also at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids, with Fr. Sunny Dominic officiating.
There will be a graveside service at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Luverne, Minnesota, at 2 p.m., also on Thursday.
Linda Marie Rust was born on June 3, 1958, in Luverne, Minnesota, to parents Arnie and Shirley (Marthaler) Mollberg. She grew up and attended school in Luverne where she was a high school graduate. After high school Linda began and completed a two-year course of study at the Worthington Community College.
She was united in marriage to Jon Rust at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Luverne, Minnesota, on July 24, 1981. The couple lived in Rapid City, South Dakota, Mitchell, South Dakota, Thomasville, Georgia, Estherville, Iowa, and eventually Rock Rapids in March of 1988. Linda worked as a bank teller and eventually a clerk at Dollar General and Todd’s Station.
Linda enjoyed first and foremost her grandkids and their activities. She really liked Central Lyon, GLR football and all the school activities she followed and kept in touch. Linda loved reading, especially outdoors. Nothing was better than a relaxing read in the backyard.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jon; children Andy (Amanda) Rust; Theresa Rust; Alex (Lexi) Rust; grandchildren Cael, Becket, Luna, Letten Gordon, River and Jesse; siblings Diane Gonnerman, David Mollberg and Mary McDowell.
Preceding Linda in death were her parents, Arnie and Shirley Mollberg, her sister Barb McClure, and a brother, Tom Mollberg.
