Cardinal boys’ basketball team beats TCU, heads to sections against Fairmont March 2

The Luverne boys’ basketball team finished their regular season beating the Tri-City United Titans 83-73 in a Big South Conference cross-over game Saturday, Feb. 24, on the road.

The Luverne boys’ wrestling team traveled to Windom for the Section 3AA Individual tournament Saturday, Feb. 24.

Senior Sam Rock, with a record of 46-3 this season, qualified for the state tournament by taking first place in the 172-pound weight class.

Girls’ basketball team beats Redwood in section play

The Luverne girls’ basketball team continues on in the section playoffs after taking down Redwood Valley 58-52 in Section 3AA action Saturday, Feb. 24, on the road.

Two Luverne gymnasts, juniors Ella Reisdorfer and Amira Cowell, participated in the 2024 State Gymnastics Individual Tournament at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul Friday, Feb. 23.

“The girls represented Luverne well,” head coach Phoebe Flom said.  

H-BC finishes regular season 17-8, designated No.1 seed in sections

The H-BC boys’ basketball team went 2-1 in conference play this week and will prepare for their first round of section basketball on Saturday, March 1.

The Patriots beat SWMC 66-38 Tuesday, Feb. 20, and Adrian 74-39 Friday, Feb. 23, and fell to RTR 83-65 Monday, Feb. 26.

Lady Pates beat Adrian in Section 3A quarterfinals

The Patriots girls’ basketball team traveled to Worthington Saturday, Feb. 24, for the Section 3A South Subsection Quarterfinal game against Adrian.

The Lady Pates won the game over the Dragons 64-61 in overtime play.
