Luverne grapplers ‘Rock’ state individual wrestling tourney

The Rocks rolled their way into the 2024 Minnesota Individual State Wrestling Tournament at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul March 1 and 2 and left their mark on the competition.

Senior Sam Rock took fifth place in the 172-pound weight class.

LHS upsets Fairmont 65-57 in Round 1 boys’ section basketball

The No. 5 seed Luverne boys’ basketball team upset No. 4 seed Fairmont 65-57 Saturday, March 2, on the road in Round 1 section action.

After falling to Fairmont twice in the regular season, Luverne got redemption by knocking Fairmont out of section play.

Patriots boys run away with 65-44 basketball win over Heron Lake

The H-BC boys’ basketball team crushed Heron Lake 65-44 in their first section tournament game Saturday, March 2, in Worthington.

The No. 1 seed Patriots had no trouble beating the No. 9 seed Coyotes in section play.

Girls’ basketball team falls 67-58 to Fairmont in section quarterfinal game

The No. 5 seed Luverne girls’ basketball team ended their season falling to No. 1 seed Fairmont 67-58 Thursday, Feb. 29, in the section quarterfinal game played in Worthington.
