The Luverne High School softball team beat Edgerton-Southwest Christian 16-6 in five innings at home Monday, April 15.
The win puts the Cardinals at 2-0 for the season with LHS scheduled to travel for a double header against Jackson County Central Tuesday, April 16.

LHC and H-BC track and field teams competed in Luverne Tuesday, April 9.
Weather conditions were cool and breezy with temps in the mid-60s.
The Luverne baseball team dropped four games this past week, falling 9-5 to Marshall on April 9, losing to Windom 7-4 on April 12, and bowing to Esko 4-2 on April 13, and 11-6 to Pipestone Monday, April 15.
The Luverne golf teams traveled to Worthington Monday, April 9, and hosted Southwest Christian Monday, April 15.
At Worthington the LHS boys’ team won 161-164, and the girls fell 214-235.
The Hills-Beaver Creek High School golf team traveled to Mountain Lake Tuesday, April 9.
The Patriots finished behind Mountain Lake and Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda/ Westbrook-Walnut Grove in the boys’ team competition.
The Hills-Beaver Creek High School track and field team traveled to Garretson, South Dakota, for the Jesse James meet Saturday, April 13.
The Patriots boys’ team finished in fourth place with a total team score of 81 points.
The Luverne track and field team traveled to Marshall Monday, April 15, competing at the Southwest Minnesota State University track.
