Luverne residents hoping for an easy beach day this summer may be in for disappointment.

Patriots golf team participates in Red Rock Conference Week 2 meet

The Hills-Beaver Creek boys’ and girls’ golf teams competed in Week 2 of the Red Rock Conference meet Thursday, April 30.

The H-BC boys finished in fourth place out of eight teams with a team score of 368 strokes in 18-hole play at the Slayton Country Club.

City of Beaver Creek may purchase former elementary school building

The City of Beaver Creek has a tentative agreement with the Hills-Beaver Creek School District to purchase the former elementary school for $1 and then demolish it. 

Highway 75 work continues

An isolated neighborhood near the Highway 75 construction work was without water for roughly five hours Wednesday afternoon, April 29. 

Affected customers were notified ahead of time and were also notified when water service was resumed.

Bookin' Buddies celebrates 25 years

Luverne Elementary School’s second grade Bookin’ Buddies program observed its 25th anniversary last week with cookies and a year-end story time in the elementary library. 

City has contract with new airport manager

The Luverne Municipal Airport is under new management, according to an agreement discussed at the April 28 City Council meeting. 

GeeUp LLC, Laura and Ryan Gee, along with their daughter, started May 1 as the new airport managers.
