The H-BC Patriots secured their third team win of the season against Cedar Mountain at home Friday, Sept. 15, with a 40-6 victory.

“I was very pleased with the way our guys played Friday night against a very good Cedar Mountain team,” said head coach Rex Metzger.

The Luverne Cardinals football team hosted Sibley East Friday, Sept. 15, beating the Wolverines 35-0.

“It was nice to get a solid win and shutout at home,” said head coach Todd Oye.

Janice Marie Larson, age 79, of Beaver Creek, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at her acreage outside of Beaver Creek on Monday, Sept. 11, 2023.

Louis Leroy Laackmann, age 91, of Doon, Iowa, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2023, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne, Minnesota.

•The annual closing of the city pool for cleaning and maintenance this year includes a major roof replacement project over the pool area of the building.

“It’s quite an involved project,” said City Administrator John Call.
