Oh, what a year it has been for sports

The 2023-24 school year is in full swing, and fall sports are almost halfway through the regular season schedule.

The school sports cycle continues, and at the end of the fall season it will mark my one-year anniversary as the Rock County Star Herald sports editor.

H-BC Patriots pound Cedar Mountain 40-6

The H-BC Patriots secured their third team win of the season against Cedar Mountain at home Friday, Sept. 15, with a 40-6 victory.

“I was very pleased with the way our guys played Friday night against a very good Cedar Mountain team,” said head coach Rex Metzger.

Luverne Cardinals roll past Sibley East 35-0

The Luverne Cardinals football team hosted Sibley East Friday, Sept. 15, beating the Wolverines 35-0.

“It was nice to get a solid win and shutout at home,” said head coach Todd Oye.
