Share the Good News

A few weeks ago, I received some good news.  My brother-in-law and sister-in-law had a baby boy.  He was their first child and this was wonderful news.  I shared with many people that I became an uncle again.  I was excited for them and I was happy to see our family grow.

LHS girls stun New Ulm in 3-2 overtime Section 3A semifinal game

The Luverne girls’ hockey team pulled off a spectacular 3-2 overtime win against New Ulm at home Saturday, Feb. 10.

With 28 seconds left in the overtime period, junior Payton Behr beat the New Ulm goalie with the game winning goal.

Rocks qualify for state tourney

The Luverne girls’ wrestling team qualified two female wrestlers for state competition Friday, Feb. 9, in Redwood Falls.

Sophomore Bernie Rock placed first in the 112-pound weight class and her sister, freshman CeCe Rock, took second place in the 148-pound weight class.

Cardinal wrestling team takes second place in Springfield Invitational, Rock places first

The Luverne High School wrestling team traveled to Springfield for an Invitational Friday, Feb. 9.

The Cardinals placed second out of 11 teams in the competition with 166 team points. LHS finished behind first-place Central Public School with 218 team points.

Luverne girls’ basketball team beats St. James 78-63 on home court

The Luverne girls hosted St. James Thursday, Feb. 8, beating the Saints 78-63 in the game.

The Cardinals out-shot the Saints at the 3-point line hitting 12 of 23 attempts for 36 team points.
