Luverne native to lead Anna Maria Island July 4 parade

U.S. Army retired veteran Rickard Jensen had his vehicle selected to be the Honor Guard vehicle for the Anna Maria Island, Florida, Fourth of July Parade.

Luverne Junior Legion baseball beats Pipestone 11-5 at home

The Luverne Junior Legion baseball team beat Pipestone 11-5 at home Monday, June 24.

Because of flooding at Redbird Field, the game was played at the Luverne High School south baseball field.

The Luverne Senior Legion baseball team was able to get in two games this past week, traveling to Bird Island to take on Annandale and St. Louis Park Sunday, June 23.

Luverne beat Annandale 7-5 in six innings and fell to St. Louis Park 9-1 in six innings.

Christensen Broadcasting to start streaming LHS varsity sports this fall

Luverne Public Schools signed a three-year sports streaming contract Thursday, June 20.

The contract begins September 1.

Board members received the information at their June 20 meeting and supported the idea of free public streaming of varsity sporting events.
