Patriots win section 9-player football championship

The H-BC Patriots football team was crowned Section 3A 9-Players Champions Friday, Nov. 3, in Marshall.

Hills-Beaver Creek defeated Edgerton 30-8 to move on to the state quarterfinals against the Kingsland Knights Thursday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. in Albert Lea.

LHS sends four cross country runners to State Class A Individual Championship

Four Luverne cross country runners participated in the 2023 MSHSL Class A State Individual Championships on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the University of Minnesota Les Bolstad Golf Course.

The state meet was hosted at St. Olaf College in Northfield from 1991 up until last season.

Luverne falls 3-0 to Redwood in Section 3AA volleyball

The Luverne volleyball team fell to Redwood Valley 3-0 in Section 3AA quarterfinal competition Tuesday, Oct. 31, in Redwood Falls.

The Cardinals lost a very close first set 27-25.

In sets two and three LHS kept it close, falling 25-19 in both sets.

Three Luverne Taekwondo students compete in Midwest Championships

Three Luverne Taekwondo students competed in the 39th Annual Midwest Taekwondo Championships in Tea, South Dakota, Saturday, Oct. 21.

They were among 125 competitors from South Dakota, Minnesota, North Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa at the event.

‘EPIC’ in capital letters

Pheasant season is underway at full steam and the reports are all looking pretty good.  I had a group in my county over the weekend, and they were only a few birds short of their limits for their efforts over four days.
