    Through its Harvest for Hunger fundraiser, CHS Eastern Farmers Co-op employees donated $3,963 to the Rock County Food Shelf and $2,700 to the BackPack Program Wednesday, July 17.     The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating a crash on I-90 that took the life of a Luverne woman Tuesday morning. Brooke Thompson, a 2015 Luverne High School graduate, died Tuesday as a result of injuries she sustained in the crash. Thompson was reportedly on her way to Sioux Falls when the crash occurred.     Several storm systems over southwest Minnesota Saturday resulted in severe weather that downed trees, flattened crops and damaged property. Some areas of the county were affected worse than others by the storm, which mustered wind gusts up to 70 mph in some areas.     If attendance at the Wiener Dog Races is any indication, the events of the July 11 Hot Dog Night drew big crowds. Twenty dogs went head-to-head in the 16th Annual Wiener Dog Races.
