Two men with longtime connections to the Luverne High School track and field program recently received statewide recognition.
Davis Lake Triathlon kicks off Fourth of July celebration
The ninth annual Davis Lake Triathlon once again kicked off the Fourth of July activities at The Lake Thursday.
The triathlon has two divisions, the Minnows and the Sharks.
Senior Legion goes 2-3-1
The Luverne Sr. Legion baseball team had a busy schedule this past week, finishing 2-3-1.
Luverne beat Minneota 9-6 on Tuesday, July 2, at home.
Redbirds beat Jackson in home game
The Luverne Redbirds played just one game last week, taking the Jackson Bulls 4-1 at Redbird Field Sunday, July 7.
Jr. Legion wins two games, now 12-2 for season
The Luverne Jr. Legion baseball team took two games this past week, getting by Slayton 5-4 on the road Tuesday, July 2, and blanking Adrian 7-0 at home Monday, July 8.
Ellingson records second hole-in-one at Adrian Country Club July 2
Dan Ellingson, Hills, aced hole No. 6 at the Adrian Country Club Tuesday, July 2. He used a six iron for his second hole-in-one.
