
Vance L. Kohl, 87, of the town of Eagle Point, Wisconsin, died Saturday, December 21, 2024, surrounded by family at Our House Senior Living, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and under the care of St. Croix Hospice.
He was born November 3, 1937, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, to Louis and Mildred (Lillie) Kohl. He graduated from Luverne High School in Luverne, Minnesota. Following high school, he attended South Dakota State University and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
On June 29, 1958, he married Margaret Henningsen. Vance worked for 30 years in the ice machine industry. For over 10 years he owned and operated Tee-A-Way Golf Course in Ladysmith before moving to Chippewa Falls.
He enjoyed golfing, wood carving, and spending time with his friends and family and his special dog companion, Lady.
Vance is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons, Korey (Nancy) Kohl of Hudson and Trent (Benida) Kohl of Delafield; grandchildren, Zachary Kohl, Jacob (Stephanie) Kohl, Rebecca (Jer) Nielson, Alan (Sarah) Kohl, Tanner Kohl, Lindsey Kohl, Mariah Kohl; great-grandchildren, Jordy Nielson, Blake Nielson, and Thea Kohl.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, James.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 5, at First Presbyterian Church, Chippewa Falls, with Rev. Ed Williams officiating. Visitation will begin at the church at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to First Presbyterian Church of Chippewa Falls.
