Sharon DeVries, 84, of Le Mars, Iowa, formerly of Sioux Center, Iowa, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Sanford Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, surrounded by her family.

Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Visitation will resume from 10-10:45 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024, at New Life Church in Sioux Center, Iowa. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at New Life Church in Sioux Center, Iowa. Pastor Dan Kruse will officiate. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center.

Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

Sharon Kay Ehlers, the daughter of Carl and Mayme (Dilly) Ehlers, was born on June 20, 1940, in Ashton, Iowa. She grew up in Ashton where she attended school. She graduated from Ashton High School in 1957.

She was united in marriage to Theodore “Ted” DeVries on April 24, 1959, in Ashton, Iowa. After their marriage, they moved to Luverne, Minnesota. Sharon drove school bus for the Luverne school district. While living in Luverne, she and Ted were members of the American Reformed Church in Luverne, where they were counselors for R.C.Y.F. for several years. She was strong in her faith.
