Kim Alan Faber, 63, of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, passed away Aug. 11, 2025.
Celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, at the Valley Springs Reformed Church, Valley Springs, South Dakota. Burial will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Valley Springs, South Dakota.
Kim Alan Faber was born June 21, 1962, to Wilbert “Willie” and Eleanor “Brownie” Faber of Beaver Creek, Minnesota. He attended and graduated from Hills Beaver Creek High School, South Dakota State University, and the South Dakota School of Mines.
After graduation Kim went on to work for Northwestern National Life Insurance in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as a computer programmer until he could no longer work due to health reasons.
Kim loved anything to do with airplanes and obtained his license to fly. He was active at the Benson airport and helped organize many events there. He enjoyed going to the gun range and completive shooting competitions. Kim also loved to read, doing research on the internet, working on small engine plane models, fishing, and playing rummy and cribbage.
Blessed by his life were his mother, Eleanor Faber of Inwood, Iowa; his siblings, Terry Faber of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Bonnie (Dave) Blank of Lake City, Florida, Randy (Lori) Faber of Hanska, Minnesota, Robin (Dan) Viet of Parker, South Dakota, Troy (Jean) Faber of Rochester, Minnesota, Michele (Scott) Peterson of Russell, Minnesota, and Bill Faber of San Antonio, Texas; stepbrothers Curt, Calvin, Doug, and Steve Faber; along with numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willbert “Willie” Faber; sister, Sheryl Faber; stepfather, Harold Faber; and stepsister, Diane Faber.
