Senior Anika Boll is heading back to the girls’ state hockey tournament for her fifth year in a row with the team.

I had an opportunity to visit with her this past week about her experience on the team.

Girls go to state tourney fifth year in row

The Luverne High School girls’ hockey team is headed to the state tournament for the fifth year in a row.

The Cardinals defeated Marshall 4-0 in the Section 3A championship game Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter.

Luverne gymnasts second in team sections

The Luverne gymnastics team finished in second place behind Worthington in the Section 3A gymnastics team competition Saturday, Feb. 17, in Windom.

Cardinal wrestling team reaches final four in team sections for first time since 2000

The Luverne High School wrestling team made it to the final four in team sectional wrestling this past week.

Boys’ hockey finishes regular season 23-2, heads to sections

The Luverne boys’ hockey team closed its regular season with a 23-2 record and took the Big South Conference with a 16-0 record.

LHS boys’ basketball go 1-1

The Luverne boys’ basketball team fell to Worthington 82-77 on the road Thursday, Feb. 15, and beat Little Wound 69-29 in Flandreau Saturday, Feb. 17.

The Cardinals will finish their regular season in Redwood Falls Saturday, Feb. 24, to take on Tri-City United.

 

LHS girls’ basketball team falls to Worthington, beats TCU

The Luverne girls’ basketball team went 1-1 in basketball action last week.

The Cardinals fell 65-44 to Worthington Thursday, Feb. 15, at home and beat Tri-City United 50-47 on the road Saturday, Feb. 17.

Patriot boys beat Edgerton, fall to Mountain Lake

The H-BC boys’ basketball team finished the week with a 1-1 record, defeating Edgerton at home 71-46 Tuesday, Feb. 13, and falling to Mountain Lake by one point Friday, Feb. 16, on the road.

Lady Pates basketball team wins two conference games

The Lady Pates won two conference games this past week, both on the road, beating MLA-C 57-38 Thursday, Feb. 15, and topping Russell-Tyler-Ruthton 63-46 Monday, Feb. 19.

The girls finished the regular season 15-10, with a 11-7 record in Red Rock Conference play.
