Luverne baseball racked up three more wins to extend their winning streak to eight games in a row.

The Cardinals beat Jackson County Central 10-0 at home Tuesday, May 6, and took two games from St. James 8-1 and 11-4 in a doubleheader on the road Thursday, May 8.

The Luverne girls’ softball team won two games and fell in two in a busy week of play.

LHS beat Blue Earth 18-4 and 19-4 in a doubleheader on the road Thursday, May 8.

LHS fell 11-1 to Edgerton at home Friday, May 9, and lost to Adrian 8-7 on the road Monday, May 12.

The Luverne boys’ tennis team lost four matches this week.

Blue Earth topped Luverne 7-0 Tuesday, May 6, at home, Lac qui Parle and Benson both beat Luverne 7-0 at home Saturday, May 10, in a doubleheader, and Fairmont beat LHS 7-0 on the road Monday, May 12.

The Patriots varsity track team participated in the Dick Davidson Invitational Thursday, May 8, in Slayton.

The H-BC boys’ team placed second with a score of 134, and the girls’ team finished in third with a score of 100 in the team competitions.

The Luverne High School golf team participated in the Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Invitational Friday, May 9.

The LHS boys’ team placed fourth and the girls’ team finished in fifth place.

The Patriots golf team participated in the Red Rock Conference Week 3 golf meet Tuesday, May 6.

The LHS and H-BC trap shooting teams recorded their third week of competition scores.

Piper Wynia (LHS) and Cameron Allen (H-BC) each recorded a 25-straight score this week.
