At 10 a.m. Saturday, July 18, on South Highway 75 the largest nutcracker in the world will be dedicated in alignment with a pretty significant birthday. 

Mine. 

In a way, the Luverne nutcracker and I will now share a birthday.

There are dozens of stories swirling around the “Roadless Rule”. The Roadless Rule was put in place back in 2001 by the president Bill Clinton. The rule was put in place by a wilderness regulation and not by a bill passed in the congress.

As a promising sign of progress on the Highway 75 reconstruction project in Luverne workers began pouring concrete just north of Barck Avenue early Tuesday morning. This section of concrete work is between Barck Street and Cashin Drive.

A 20-year-old Luverne woman is facing gross misdemeanor charges after allegedly leaving her toddler alone overnight while partying in Sioux Falls. 

During the Hills Friendship Days on June 12 Deon Carriere raised $2,360 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation by grilling burgers and bratwurst through his business, Brody’s Bar.
