Local athletes spring into new season

Spring sports are just around the corner, and local athletes in Luverne and Hills-Beaver Creek high schools are starting their new routines in great weather.

Chad Rauk named 2024 Section 3A South Coach of the Year

Hills-Beaver Creek boys’ basketball head coach Chad Rauk was named the 2024 Section 3A South Boys’ Basketball Coach of the Year.

‘Family Game Night’ set for March 22-23

The Blue Mound Figure Skaters will present their 33rd Annual Ice Show “Family Game Night” this weekend at the Blue Mound Arena in Luverne.

They perform at 7 p.m. Friday, March 22, and at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 23.

Residents enjoy early spring weather

This year’s unseasonable warmth began over the weekend and continued into Monday as temperatures rose into the mid-70s. “It’s just a nice day to be out,” said Schomacker, who enjoyed the outdoors after work.

Street light, intersection work delayed

Improvements at Main Street and Highway 75 in Luverne are delayed a year, due additional infrastructure work planned for the project.
