Rose Wieneke

Rose A. Wieneke, 86, Lismore, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, in Luverne Community Hospital.

Services were Wednesday, Feb. 6, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore. The Rev. Gerald Kosse and Roxanne Lisnak officiated. Burial was at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Lismore.

Rose Dollander was born to Jacob and Mary (Serie) Dollander on April 2, 1915, in Hardwick. She attended rural school near Magnolia.

She married Edmund R. Wieneke on Jan. 15, 1935, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore. They farmed in Leota Township for eight years prior to moving to Lismore Township where they continued farming. Mr. Wieneke died Oct. 10, 1985. Se made her home in Lismore Township until she moved to Mary Jane Brown Good Samaritan Center in Luverne in February 2000.

Mrs. Wieneke was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, CCW and Christian Mothers. She enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards, and puzzle books.

Survivors include 10 children, Arlene (Ron) Steen, Englewood, Colo., Jerome (Carol) Wieneke, Frank (Deb) Wieneke, all of Adrian, Elmer (Judy) Wieneke, Jake (Theresa) Wieneke, Herman (Eileen) Wieneke, Ray (Shirley) Wieneke, Carl (Roberta) Wieneke, all of Lismore, Harold (Rhoda) Wieneke, Olewein, Iowa, and Lois (Larry) Schmidtke, Trimont; 37 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; one brother, Virgil (Kathleen) Dollander, Slayton; one sister, Margaret (Thomas) Kuykendall, Vallejo, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews and in-laws.

Mrs. Wieneke was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Steph, and one brother, Leopold.

Dingmann Funeral Home, Adrian, was in charge of arrangements.
