MINUTES OF THE SCHOOL BOARD MEETING OF
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 2184,
ROCK COUNTY, LUVERNE, MINNESOTA
A regular meeting of the Board of Education, ISD #2184, was held in the district office on May 28, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
The following members were present: Ryan DeBates, Michael DeBates, Eric Hartman, Tim Jarchow, Zach Nolz and David Wrigg. Absent : Heather Johnson Also present: Craig Oftedahl, Terry Eernisse, Jason Phelps, Stacy Gillette, Tyler Hodge, Tom Rops, Kira Degerness, Seana Graber, Lori Oechsle, Jason Berghorst, Becky Rahm, Marie Atkinson-Smeins, Morgan Van Holland and Nicole Ronchetti - Rock County Star Herald.
Chairperson Eric Hartman opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion made by Tim Jarchow, second by Ryan DeBates, to approve the agenda as presented. Motion unanimously carried.
Administrative reports were given.
Motion made by David Wrigg, seconded by Michael DeBates to approve the April 23, 2026, school board meeting minutes as presented. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Michael DeBates, seconded by Tim Jarchow, to accept the following donations:

Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Tim Jarchow, seconded by Ryan DeBates, approves the summer contracts as presented. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Zach Nolz, seconded by David Wrigg, to approve $395 per student for driver’s education. Motion unanimously carried.
Business Manager Terry Eernisse reviewed the District and student activity bills with the board. Motion made by Michael DeBates, seconded by Tim Jarchow, to approve the payment of the bills in the amount of $593,702.04 and payroll in the amount of $1,136,551.92 for a grand total of $1,730,253.96. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Tim Jarchow, seconded by Zach Nolz, to receive the Student Activity Report showing the balances as of April 30, 2026. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by David Wrigg, seconded by Zach Nolz, to approve the Master Agreement between Independent School District #2184 and Luverne Education Association for the 2025-2026 and the 2026-2027 school years. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Ryan DeBates, seconded by Zach Nolz, to accept the retirement of Larry Harms effective April 29, 2026. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Tim Jarchow, seconded by David Wrigg, to accept the resignation of Christy Csobor effective May 14, 2026. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Tim Jarchow, seconded by Ryan DeBates, to accept the resignation of Chelsie Wermager effective May 21, 2026. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Tim Jarchow, seconded by Michael DeBates, to approve the hiring of Seana Graber as choir teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Tim Jarchow, seconded by David Wrigg, to accept the resignation of Melanie Kruse effective May 21, 2026. Motion unanimously carried.
Committee Reports were given.
The upcoming meeting dates were reviewed. Motion made by Ryan Debates, seconded Tim Jarchow, to adjourn the meeting. Motion unanimously carried.
