MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING OF
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 2184,
ROCK COUNTY, LUVERNE, MINNESOTA.
A regular meeting of the Board of Education, ISD #2184, was held in the District Office on April 25, 2024, at 7:00 p.m.
The following members were present: Randy Sasker, Michael DeBates, Tim Jarchow, Zach Nolz, David Wrigg. Absent: Eric Hartman Ryan DeBates. Also present: Craig Oftedahl, Jason Phelps, Stacy Gillette, Becky Rahm, and Mavis Fodness – Rock County Star Herald.
Chairperson Tim Jarchow opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. It was noted there is an addendum to the agenda. Motion made by David Wrigg, second by Randy Sasker, to approve the agenda and addendum. Motion unanimously carried.
Administrative reports were given.
Motion made by David Wrigg, second by Randy Sasker to approve the March 21, 2024, school board minutes as presented.

Superintendent Oftedahl reviewed the District and Student Activity bills with the school board. Motion made by Michael DeBates, second by Zach Nolz, to approve payment of the bills in the amount of $589,499.86 and payroll in the amount of $1,130,561.68 for a grand total of $1,720,061.54. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by David Wrigg, second by Zach Nolz, to receive the Student Activity Report showing the balances as of March 31, 2024. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Randy Sasker, second by Zach Nolz, to move the June 27th board meeting to June 20th. Motion unanimously carried. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by David Wrigg, second by Zach Nolz, to approve the hiring of Todd Oye as the Middle School softball coach. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Michael DeBates, second by Randy Sasker, to accept the resignation of Amy Von Holtum the Teacher Induction Program Coordinator. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Randy Sasker, second by Zach Nolz, to approve the hiring of Megan Klumper as the Second English Teacher and Mock Trial Advisor for the 24-25 school year. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by David Wrigg, second by Zach Nolz, to accept the resignation of Jon Beers as Head Girls Tennis coach. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made David Wrigg, second by Zach Nolz, to accept the resignation of Jake Aukes as Special Education teacher at the end of the 23-24 school year. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Zach Nolz, second by Randy Sasker, to approve the hiring of Morgan Van Holland as the Musical Director for the spring musical. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Michael DeBates, second by David Wrigg, to approve the hiring of Rhea Norman as Special Education teacher for the 24-25 school year. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by David Wrigg, second by Michael Debates to approve the maternity leave of Dana Wolf on August 26, 2024. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by David Wrigg, second by Randy Sasker, to accept the resignation of Phil Paquette as Head Boys Hockey coach. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by David Wrigg, second by Zach Nolz, to approve the hiring of Luci Rofshus as long-term substitute for Dana Wolf. Motion unanimously carried.
Committee Reports were given. Member Randy Sasker reported on the Child Guide meeting.
The upcoming meeting dates were reviewed. Motion made by Davis Wrigg, second by Zach Nolz to adjourn the meeting. Motion unanimously carried.
