Rock County Farm Bureau President Kurt Elbers presents a $500 check to Katie Baustian at the Rock County Food Shelf on Maple Street Monday, March 14. Farm Bureau donated the funds as part of the organization’s annual Food Awareness Months in February and March. Farm Bureau creates activities during this time to bring awareness to food – from the farmers who grow it, to food safety and availability and hunger. Through the Hunger Solutions Grant program, the organization has donated $37,500, more than 13,000 pounds of food and 47,000 meals to nearly 50 counties throughout Minnesota.
