    The Cardinals and Patriots met in Hills Monday, Feb. 5, with Luverne taking the game 63-59. It was a back-and-forth physical game that came down to the last few minutes of play to decide the winner. In the end, Luverne was able to hit a couple free throws to put the game out of reach for H-BC. Game stats were not available for this week’s  Star-Herald printing on Tuesday.

    The Hills-Beaver Creek boys’ basketball team played Southwest Minnesota Christian in Edgerton Tuesday, Jan. 9, and lost to the Eagles 66-55.     Mother Nature took a turn for the worse this past week causing several local sporting events to be postponed or rescheduled.
