Kendall Buss has been playing softball since she was in third grade. It’s a sport that she fell in love with the moment she picked up the bat for the first time.
“There isn’t one thing I don’t like about it. I just love playing,” she said. “I just love everything about the game.”
Buss, a junior at Luverne, will get to continue playing the game that she loves after high school as she recently committed to St. Cloud State University.
At SCSU, Buss will be a business major in the classroom and play outfield on the diamond. She said that SCSU had everything that she was looking for in her college search.
“Everything I wanted was there,” she said. “The business school is something I really liked. The campus was a perfect size. It wasn’t too big, but it wasn’t too small either. They just got a new weight room. I really like lifting so I’m really excited about that.”
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Buss and her LHS teammates were robbed of the 2020 spring season, but she still played for her club team, the Sioux Falls Renegades.
When Buss and her teammates take the field this spring, they won’t take anything for granted.
“I’m very excited to get back on the field,” Buss said. “We will have a younger team and I’m excited to start playing.”
