The Hills-Beaver Creek girls finished the regular season by winning seven of their last eight games, including a 60-28 victory over Adrian/Ellsworth on Friday, March 12.
The Patriots wrapped up the regular season with a 61-53 loss to Southwest Minnesota Christian on Saturday, March 13, in Edgerton.
H-BC 60, A/E 28
It was all H-BC all the time on Friday in Hills. The Patriots held the visiting Dragons to eight first half points en route to a 60-28 victory.
H-BC outscored the Dragons 31-8 in the first half. In the second half the Patriots outscored A/E 29-20 to pick up their 14th win of the season.
Abby Knobloch scored a team-high 16 points for the Patriots.
Taryn Rauk finished with 14 points for the Patriots.
Kenadie Fick reached double figures with 10 points and grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds.
SWC 61, H-BC 53
The first time Hills-Beaver Creek and Southwest Minnesota Christian squared off, it was the Patriots picking up a 57-53 victory at home.
On Saturday, March 12, in Edgerton the Eagles bested the Patriots 61-53.
H-BC held a narrow 30-28 lead at the end of the first half.
In the second half, the Eagles outscored H-BC 33-23 to pick up the 61-53 victory to hand H-BC their third loss of the season.
Rauk finished the game with 16 points and five rebounds.
Knobloch reached double figures with 11 points.
Fick also reached double figures with 10 points.
The Patriots finished the regular season with a 14-3 record. They’ll open the section tournament on Tuesday, March 16, at home against Murray County Central.
H-BC defeated MCC in Slayton earlier this season 87-45 and in Hills 63-27.
