NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO

ROCK COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES TITLE XI BUSINESS REGULATIONS,

CHAPTER 113 TOBACCO SALES & USE

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, That the Rock County Board of Commissioners will

conduct a public hearing on February 6, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. in the Herreid Board meeting

room located at 204 E. Brown Street, Luverne, Minnesota, for the purpose of amending

the Rock County Code of Ordinances, Chapter 113 Tobacco Sales & Use:

 

113.03 (K) Proximity to youth-oriented facilities or houses or worship.

Identifying youth-oriented facilities as a Park and amending the distance of a retail establishment to a park location

 

113.03 (L) Proximity to other licensed retailers

Remove section (L) referencing the distance between existing licensed retail establishments.

 

113.05 Fees

Amendment will remove the dollar amount of the license fee and will be identi-

fied on the county’s fee schedule.

 

The full text of the proposed amendments of Chapter 113 Tobacco Sales & Use

is on file at the office of the Rock County Administrator’s Office, 204 E. Brown Street,

Luverne, Minnesota. Written comments should be submitted to the Rock County

Administrator by 5:00 p.m., February 5, 2024. All persons desiring to be heard shall be

given an opportunity to present testimony.
