The Hills-Beaver Creek School Board met for its semi-monthly meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the H-BC School District Board room, 301 N Summit Ave, Hills, MN.
Board members and Administration present were Bosch, Harnack, Helgeson,
Rauk, Rozeboom and Uittenbogaard. Superintendent Holthaus, Principal
Kellenberger and Business Manager Rozeboom were also in attendance.
Board member Gehrke was absent.
Motion by Rozeboom, second by Helgeson, and carried to approve the agenda.
Visitors to the meeting were Mavis Fodness of Star Herald and Matt
Taubert of Meulebroeck, Taubert & Co. PLLP Public Hearing for Property
Tax (District Levy 2023 Pay 2024) and Fiscal Year 2024 Budget Review.
Auditor Report for District Financials Fiscal Year 2023 (Meulebroeck,
Taubert & Co., PLLP).

Teacher of the Year
•Choir and Band Concert 12/4
•VFW Writing Contest Winners- Ann Marie Wiersema first place and Jackson
Gacke second place. Ann Marie is moving on.
•Congratulations to the two H-BC Robotics Teams who competed in First Lego
League South Dakota Qualifier. Both teams qualified for the State Champion-
ship in February. The H-BC Brick Wall team took FIRST PLACE out of 22
schools.

Motion by Harnack, second by Helgeson, and carried to approve consent
agenda:

-Melanie Kruse moving from BA +15 to Master Designation for the
2023-2024 School Year
-Kaylan Untiedt moving from BA +30 to Master Designation for the
2023-2024 School Year
Motion by Rozeboom, second by Rauk, and carried to approve
accepting the findings of the District’s Fiscal Year 2023 Financial Audit
as presented by Meulebroeck, Taubert and CO., PLLP. Motion by
Uittenbogaard, second by Harnack, and carried to approve Resolution
certifying District #671 Property Tax Levy 2023 pay 2024.
Motion by Harnack, second by Rozeboom, and carried to approve Metzger
School District Tax Abatement Request for five years beginning with the
2021 Tax Year and for the next five years as requested and in alignment
with the district’s tax abatement program.
