Where does food come from?

Jay and Peter Bakken of Blac-X Farms near Beaver Creek hosted a stop on the 2016 Ag United South Dakota Farms After 5 Tour on Tuesday, July 19. 
The event, which attracted 50 interested citizens from the tri-state area, was designed to provide basic farm information for those who were unfamiliar with modern farm methods and how their food arrives safely from the farm to their plates.
“People are curious about where their food comes from, and this is a really good way to have that conversation with the community,” said Peter Bakken after the tour.
