Weather makes for tough travel week

The Minnesota State Patrol recorded 121 traffic incidents from snow-packed and icy road conditions in its Marshall district during the past week.
From Jan. 18 through 25, there were 38 property damage crashes, 10 injury crashes and 73 vehicles reported off the road, according to the Troy Christianson of the State Patrol.
The Marshall district includes 13 counties in southwest Minnesota.
Locally, none of the incidents resulted in serious injuries.
On Monday Jeffery Buckley, 41, of Luverne, was driving a 2006 Ford pickup truck a half-mile north of Luverne on Highway 75 when he lost control, entered the west ditch and rolled. Road conditions were ice/snow packed at the time of the incident around 4:30 p.m.
Buckley and his passenger, Cindy Buckley, 43, also of Luverne, were both were wearing seatbelts and were not injured in the crash.
The Rock County Ambulance, Luverne Fire Department and Rock County Sheriff assisted at the scene.
At 1:31 a.m. Tuesday, Willy J. Vivas-Velasquez, 24, address unknown, was driving eastbound on Interstate 90, five miles from the state border near Beaver Creek, when he lost control of the 2007 Ford F-150 pickup truck and rolled.
Ray E. Colon-Ortiz, 28, of Huron, South Dakota, was a passenger. Both were transported to Sanford Luverne Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The truck was totaled.
Four people were also transported to Sanford Luverne Hospital at 10:59 p.m. Saturday.
Justin D. Saufley, 28, and Chantel C. Saufley, 27, both from Worthington, along with a juvenile boy and girl were treated and released.
They were eastbound on Interstate 90, seven miles from the state line near Beaver Creek, when the 2007 Ford Focus skidded on ice, entered the median and rolled.
The vehicle received moderate damage.
