Sensors removed from Highway 75 crosswalks

Lead Summary
,

Andrew Czarneski with Tapco Traffic and Parking Lights based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, tests the new wireless bollards installed at the intersection of U.S. Highway 75 and Barck on July 14. Pedestrians crossing the highway must pass through the two aluminum bollards in order to activate the LED crossing lights at the Barck and Dodge intersections. The bollards replace the motion sensors that previously triggered the warning lights for pedestrians. The sensors would also activate if a vehicle turned too close to the corner.
