Luverne School Board approved $181,058 in coaches’ and advisers’ compensation for the 2015-16 school year.
The 79 assignment amounts are based on the current teacher contract and may possibly increase once negotiations finish. Additional coaches and advisers could be added to the payment list as a result of the final contract.
Not all of the extra assignments have been filled, said Superintendent Craig Oftedahl at the board’s regular Tuesday, July 21, meeting.
He said if the position cannot be filled within the school district, the position is then open for a community member to fill.
The School Board can determine how many coaches or advisers work with a program based on the number of participants and levels of competition.
The payments encompass the entire season as well as pre-season practices.
Selection of volunteer coaches is subject to board approval.
The assignments, assigned coaches and advisers and payments are listed in the following charts. The payment amounts are the most each particular position can receive.
