H-BC girls avenge loss to Ellsworth

The Hills-Beaver Creek girls’ basketball team avenged an early January loss to Ellsworth by defeating the Panthers on their home floor in Ellsworth Thursday.

H-BC, which came up on the short end of a 52-34 decision when the teams met in Hills Jan. 7, turned things around in the rematch.

After falling behind 26-25 in the first half, the Patriots rallied to outscore the Panthers 35-32 in the second half to secure a 60-58 victory.

Taylor Wingert (15 points, seven rebounds and three steals), Kelli Esselink (10 points and nine rebounds) and Madison Fick (11 points and four assists) played key roles in the win for H-BC.
