Local and regional artists will display their raku pottery at the Carnegie Cultural Center in Luverne during the month of April. An artists’ reception is planned for Friday, April 26. Luverne Kindergarten Round-up set for April 18
Luverne Kindergarten Round-Up will be Thursday, April 18, at the Luverne Elementary School. Session 1 is geared toward new kindergarten parents and will begin at 5:30 p.m. Session 2 is an informal “meet and greet” time from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Children must be five years old before Sept. 1, 2013, in order to register for kindergarten. Puppet show, movie at library April 19
Join the Rock County Community Library to celebrate National Library Week. Jim Oliver will present the puppet show, “The Library Circus,” at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 19, in the library basement. This event is sponsored by The Friends of the Library. All ages welcome.

LWML Spring Rally set for April 20
The LWML Spring Rally for the Pipestone Zone will be from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 20, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone. Heidi Roos, guest speaker, will talk about her mission trips to Haiti. Gifts from the Heart will be health kits, layette kits and pillowcase dresses for people in Haiti. Lunch will be served about noon.
Elementary tree program at library April 25
The Rock County Community Library is hosting an Earth Week/Arbor Day program about trees at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 25, for children K-5th grade.
A naturalist will share facts about trees, organize games about trees and teach kids how to plant a tree. All children in attendance will receive a free sapling donated by the Rock County Land Management Office.
Sign up for school supply distribution by April 26
In cooperation with Luverne 92 Lions and the Luverne Optimist Club, the Luverne School District will participate in a school supply distribution for school supplies to all qualifying students in grades preschool through 12th grade.
