Library winter reading program underway
The Rock County Library invites anyone 16 years old and older to participate in the adult winter reading program, “Hot Reads for Cold Nights.” The reading program is already underway but the signup continues.
Participants who read 12 titles before March 31 will be eligible for a prize. Audio books and e-books are included. Stop by the library to sign up.
MOPS starting Jan. 29

Rock Nobles Cattlemen’s Banquet set for Feb. 4
The Rock Nobles Cattlemen’s banquet will be Monday, Feb. 4, at the Blue Mound Banquet Center in Luverne. The evening will begin with social hour at 6 p.m. and the meal at 6:30 p.m. Entertainment will be C. Willi Myles. Tickets are $15 and attendees will be registered for a grand prize beef drawing.

SWROC’s Winter Crops and Soils Day set for Feb. 5
The Southwest Research and Outreach Center (SWROC) in Lamberton will host Winter Crops and Soils Day Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Blue Mound Banquet & Meeting Center in Luverne.
This is a public event highlighting current University of Minnesota research that is specific to southwestern Minnesota. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the workshop running from 9:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. The event’s $20 registration fee covers handouts and lunch. Preregistration is required.
