The Hills-Beaver Creek girls ran into an Iowa powerhouse when they entertained Central Lyon for a game Monday in Hills.
The visiting Lions lived up to their billing during the contest.
CL rolled to a 37-15 lead in the game’s first half and used a 27-20 scoring advantage in the second half to clinch a 64-35 victory over the Patriots.
“They have a good ball club that created a lot of issues for us,” said H-BC coach Jason Blosmo.
“We had our moments, but we just didn’t string enough of them together.”
Taylor Wingert paced H-BC offensively by netting 10 points.
Meghan Leuthold grabbed 11 rebounds and Hattie Van Wyhe registered five steals for the Patriots.
