Luverne senior quarterback Brett Heronimus rams is way into the end zone in order to register a third-quarter touchdown during Friday's 35-28 loss to Jackson County Central during the Section 3AA title game in Marshall.

Section championship day at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall proved to be a disappointing experience for two football teams from the Star Herald coverage Area Friday.

Both Adrian and Luverne High Schools sported second-half leads in their respective section title tilts.

Unfortunately, neither team could register a victory.

St. Clair recorded a touchdown with 1:04 remaining in the Section 3A championship game to knock off Adrian 15-12.

Luverne sported a pair of second-half advantages in the Section 3AA title tilt against Jackson County Central, but the Huskies scored with less than four minutes remaining in the game to pull out a 35-28 victory.

Look for complete stories on both games Monday.
